It won't be long before thrift season, (garage sale season, whatever you choose to call it) is upon us. Soon, I will be driving to the farmer's market on Saturday morning and my car will magically turn to follow a yellow cardboard sign with an arrow pointing the way.
The past few weeks I've been popping in to the new goodwill store right down the street when I get a quick 20 minutes or so. And earler this week Sara, and I got a full morning (yes, you read that correctly) to hit some new to me thrifts on the other side of town.
Sara is the most perfect thrifting partner evah! She has a great eye and since we have slightly different tastes, we only had to duke it out over a few items. This was our maiden thrifting trip, but I can see many more in our future. Hi Sara!
This lovely little lamp asked to come home with me. It has an awkward base that I am sure once held and anchor or a ship or something of that nature. But right now it is happy to hold a little jar of flowers for me.
Large Atlas jars are always on my list. Especially for $6 each. After last summer's attack of the pantry moths, I've been working on getting more of our pantry staples in glass jars with good lids. These will come in handy.
And fabric...what's s good thrift outing without a fabric score or two. This pretty peach print above is a set of curtains, a bedskirt and two valances. There is almost 10 yards of it.
Love this blue print. I'm always a sucker for blue and white.
This is a great piece of barkcloth. I think there is probably 2-3 yards in this piece.
An entire roll of this great 70's blue and red trim.
This print came in a great little kitchen window curtain. Love the lattice pattern behind the apples and strawberries.
There is more.
But the little one is home today from school with a bit of a fever. He seems to be doing fine right now, but he's all hyped up on motrin. What I wouldn't give for all three boys to be sick on the same day. Off to get my bee-hind kicked in another round of mancala.
Cheers dear people!
