Dear S,
There was a time when we were dating that you said you didn't ever want to get married or have children. And we almost split up forever.
In an effort to protect us all from the sometimes hard life you knew we would be living, you were willing to sacrifice it all and live alone.
But thank goodness you changed your mind and decided we were all strong enough if we faced lifes's challenges together, side by side! Watching you grow into the amazing father that you are has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I know that might surprise you, but it is true. There is nothing that makes my heart melt like you sharing something that you love deeply with our boys, like surfing or climbing, watching a good movie, drawing, or reading.
Our boys will be honest, forthright, strong, sensetive and caring because of you.
Happy Father's Day!
I love you,
E

And to my own father...thanks Dad. And if I were there with you in Texas, I would take you for a walk down to the creek and back...that is if you hadn't thrown your back out. Dad, I love you! and I hope you are back to your old self soon.

Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful father's out there helping to raise equally wonderful kiddos.
