I'm still here. Just trying to get caught up from the domestic slacking I have done the past several days. Laundry, laundry, dishes, laundry, cleaning the floors from all of our playing in the mud which makes for more laundry.
I did get a new haircut and while I was at the salon, I asked her to color my hair something closer to my natural color (minus the increasing gray of course). I wasn't even sure what my natural color was anymore, but I was confident she could figure it out. And it came out a bit darker than I was ready for. Like I said, it had been a while. It has taken several days for me to get used to it. But I do like it a lot and it will be much easier to keep up with. It feels nice and fresh for Spring...whenever it decides to arrive.
And look what arrived in the mail today! Unannounced in a discreet white packaging. Alicia, sweet, sweet Alicia sent these vintage red shoes. She joked with me once when I posted my dumpster diving post that we might have been separated at birth. Well judging by her taste in vintage shoes, I am considering it yet another bit of evidence. You see I had commented on them way back when she posted her photo of them on flickr. Hannah had dibs on them, but I guess they didn't fit Hannah or something. Honestly, I don't even care why Hannah didn't get them. They fit and I love them! I have been wearing them around the house for an hour and a half doing laundry.
Tonight I have big plans to go through every Spring fashion magazine and catalog I have, which is only maybe two, looking for skirts and wide leg pants to go with these most perfect shoes! Anyone have any ideas? Is anyone good at matching up fun outfits? Post your ideas (with links of you can) in the comments and I'll pick someone tomorrow afternoon to send a vintage apron from my stash.
New hair and new red shoes! Where is my husband when I need a date night?
P.S. If you haven't heard this yet, thanks to Stefani via Molly. I have been humming this tune constantly for the past two days. Its good laundry music, or bring on the Spring music or "boys, get out of the house, you are driving me nuts" music. Renee and Jeremy have a new website here with more info. on purchasing their cd.
