After a few days of unseasonably warm November weather, it was very blustery here yesterday. A perfect blustery day. It was so nice to have an excuse to break out some new winter supplies that I have been hoarding. For the boys that meant new art supplies and an old movie. For me it meant some new yarn and a new size K crochet hook.
We popped in Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, one that we have not seen in more than a year, but an all time favorite around these parts. Also a favorite at the moment is the kettle corn the Boy Scouts are selling. That perfect mix of sweet and salty. If you have a boy scout in your neighborhood, get some. At intermission we warmed up some local apple cider...mmm...
While the boys were otherwise happy, I was able to finish one hat, six to go, using Lion Brand's Wool-Ease Thick and Quick. That pretty much sums up my crochet style needs to a tee...I need my projects to be thick and quick. It is much, much better than the first hat I made last year. Bless his little heart, Zane still wears that sad little hat. I asked Ian if he would take a photo of me in the newest hat (that will be going to an unnamed person on our Christmas list). His laughing out loud at my request turned into a hilarious photo shoot ending in a tickle fest on the floor. As photographer and editor I let him pick his favorite shot. He said he liked this one because I was getting ready to "snuggle buggle" him. Ah, love!
And then to top the night off, my friend Maggie braved the wind and rain, showing up at our doorstep with chicken rosemary soup and a bottle of wine. Heaven! Everyone needs a Maggie to bring you nourishment and a bit of cheer on a dreary day. Love you M!
