We had a wonderful Thanksgiving full of good friends and great food. I was not sure how many of the kids would actually sit at the kid's table the boys and I set up. I was guessing that the little ones would just run around and we would be shoving bits of sweet potatoses and turkey into their wee mouths as they ran past. But, we pulled extra small chairs from the upstairs playroom and all eleven of them sat together and ate for at least twenty minutes. Tracing their hands on the brown paper spread on the table, practicing writing their names. "Mom, how do you spell turkey?". It was really a great scene.
And the adults were given ample time to sit at the big person's table set with full place settings of Aunt Grace's silver and our good crystal. The turkey turned out perfectly, Karenmarie's burbon sweet potatoes were to die for, and Malin's Sweedish cake was the perfect addition to after dinner coffee.
Thank you friends for such a wonderful evening together. We must do it again for Christmas. Yes?
Today the boys are back in kindy, and I really should be getting the Christmas decorations out, but I find myself just plumb tuckered out. Maybe a day to recoup is in order and then get to the Christmas tomorrow?
