Here is my Friday WIP (work in progress)...a day late. My wireless connection was giving me fits again yesterday. I have got to get it figured out. The connection is extremely slow sometimes - think dial-up. And I loose the connection from time to time and have to reconnect. Anyway...
I have been thoroughly enjoying Sock and Glove by Miyako Kanamori. She creates and provides patterns for creating wonderful animals from socks. I have such a soft spot for repurposed things that this book was a definite on my summer list. We have an entire basket in our laundry room dedicated to mismatched, single socks looking for mates. These poor socks usually end up as dust rags or are cut up and used as garden string. But these lost souls might have a brighter future ahead thanks to this book.
Anytime I am looking at a crochet book that contains animal patterns in it or have a softy book open and Wyatt sees a cat, he yells "REGGIE". Our cat's name is Reggie and he calls any cat he sees, whether they look like our Reggie or not, a Reggie.
So here is Wyatt's Reggie - made from one of my old black wool socks and one of S's hiking socks. Of course he needs eyes, but I'll get to them today. And perfect timing, because my little one has come down with a bit of summer cold. Lets hope Reggie kitty has some healing powers.
