Yesterday, as we were driving home from a birthday party, I saw the first estate sale sign since around October of last year. The conversation with S who was driving went something like this.
Me: "Stop! Stop, there's an estate sale!"
Him: "And...", as he starts to slow down.
Me: "Give me 5 minutes, I promise. Ill be out lickety split".
Him: "You know we are moving in two weeks, right?"
Me: "Yes, I know."
Him: "OK. You know, all of this fun you have been having has to end. We can't be chasing the movers down after they have packed everything because you just returned home with another box of junk."
Me: "I know. Do you have any money?"
Him: "All the cash I have is 5 dollars."
Me: "That'll work. Give me 5 minutes."
Here are the results of the 5 minutes, 5 dollars and my last estate sale in Wisconsin before the big move.
Somehow I don't think I'll be finding deals like this in Virginia Beach. But who knows, maybe the richies and the beautiful people at the beach won't want any of this old junk either. Hope you weekend was a good one!
*updated to say the last photo is of some vintage paper coasters. pretty, huh?*
Oh, and we "released" our real estate agent yesterday because we were not exactly happy with his efforts to sell our house. So, Im off to list it now with FSBO at a much lower price since we dont have to cover his commission.
