I have been a little frustrated with myself lately. I have not been near as productive as I usually can be. I feel like I have been doing a little of a lot of things and not having much of a real impact in any one area. We are starting to make realtor phone calls and schedule carpet cleaners and painters for the big move coming up soon. But really, that isn't for a few more weeks. I have been putting a few things in the shop every night, but that is not even weighing heavily on my brain. Then why can I not bring myself to finish the 5 or 6 sewing/crafty projects I need to finish? Hmmm...could my sewing frustrations be directly linked to the mess that has become my sewing craft area? Most probably.
My sewing area is in the basement, which is not the most happy place in our house in my opinion. There is very, very little natural light. Try none. And it is cold down there in the winter. And I can't keep my eye on the littles while I sew. That in itself is a very dangerous thing. So, this space does not get the attention it needs to make it an organized relaxing place to be. And really, I can't show a potential buyer this craziness.
In compliance with Simplify in '07, this is my project for the next few days. Hopefully as I clear the space and go through a few things, my mind will be more clear as well.
Oh, and the one thing small thing I have been able to complete is a crocheted watch band for my Timex Ironman while watching Secondhand Lions last night. I love this watch and will not wear anything else. I had my first one for 5 years and this one is on year 4. I love that I can set the timer for 4 minutes with a touch of a button...the exact amount of time for timeout at our house. I never take it off and I am lost without it. However, with bathing the dog, and other stinky tasks as of late, the band was acquiring a foul odor. Nice huh? So, the original band is soaking in some vinegar for awhile while this crocheted version is pinch hitting.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We did.
