I have had a gazillion things on my to do list lately. I have been trying to get to the post office for almost a week now, but between weather and sick kiddos, I just haven't made it. But yesterday, I had the college student across the street come play with Wyatt for a few hours and the older two were in pre-school. So, I got out on my own!!! It is amazing what you can accomplish quickly without the loading and unloading of little ones. In the three hours, I got eight packages mailed at the post office, dropped off a few things at the Goodwill store, checked out my favorite thrifty haunt (Value Village in Racine), and got to the library to return some books and pick up some new ones. Wonderful!
I will offer my apologies now for this post being photo heavy. There was so much I wanted to share. The biggest news of the day was the amazing finds I picked up at Value Village. The above photo is of three vintage tablecloths I found.
There was a whole full sized sheet set of this sweet little girly sheeting. Remember, I do not have daughters. I do not know why I buy this stuff.
Then this crocheted granny square afghan. I keep seeing these everywhere and I was thrilled to find one for under $3.
More tablecloths. I'm a sucker for red and white checked tablecloths for the summer.
I also picked up several aprons, but this turquoise smock style apron was the best. I put it on as soon as I walked in the door and found that I love its really deep pockets for holding all of the little toys that need to get put back into one room or another.
There was much, much more that I brought home, but I will not bore you with more photos. If you want to see the whole haul, you can see it here on flickr. (thank you Erin, Lori, Kristy for the kind comments over there.) But, I need to find a thrifting partner. I did enjoy my day, but digging through the junk to find the treasure is so much more fun with a friend. Who's coming with me next week?
