We woke up to about 4-5 inches of snow this morning. It was wonderful. After the unseasonably warm weather we've been having I have to say it is nice to finally experience winter again. The older boys went to pre-school, but S was home today. It was nice to have him here to watch Wyatt while I got some projects finished. I will try to get photos of those tomorrow and post them here.
Speaking of finished, I have been crocheting quite a bit. I started these fingerless gloves several weeks ago because I can never seem to warm in the winter. Spending time at the computer makes my hands cold (especially my mouse hand). So I thought these gloves from the Stitch n' Bitch book would be perfect. I have worn them all day today and think they are perfect. Well, almost perfect.
I will say again that I am not a pattern person. My routine is to read the pattern and then go off and do my own thing keeping the pattern in mind. That's what I did with these gloves. I did pretty well until I got to the thumb part. I could not figure it out for the life of me. Even after getting the book back out and looking up each mentioned stitch, I can't get it. I need a translator of some sort.
And did you know that imperfections are all the rage these days? At least according to Kirsten and Capello? So, in their honor I am posting a photo of the other thumbless glove that I wore around all day, thinking about how to finish it. It has been long enough apparently for me to forget how I did the thumb on the left hand. *note to self...this is what happens when you do not follow a pattern.*
There is beauty in imperfection too right? Please tell me there is. Even if you have to lie to me.
