Hello all! Im still getting caught up from getting so behind while fighting it out with blogger, but Im getting there. My links are almost done and thank you to all that commented with well wishes and welcomes. It really means a lot to hear from some of you I have really come to enjoy. If you were on my sidebar before and arent there yet, you will be after tonight *I hope*...pending the actions of the 3 monkeys. But I did get out a little yesterday and visited the Goodwill in Racine where Aunt K and I have found lots of goodies before. We were looking for "green knight" costumes for the boys and came up empty handed. Or should I say THEY came up empty handed. Because, look what I ran across! I found six wonderful beyond belief vintage aprons. From left to right:
mushroom smock :: yellow faces with funny hats :: child's blue gingham :: red with roster :: flouncy yellow polka dots :: pink and brown floral with funny ric-rac trim
For more photos of each apron, see here.
And Ive started a rag rug out of some pajama pants that I wore while I was pregnant and then afterward. They are pretty stretched out and S is tired of seeing me swimming in them, so I closed my eyes tightly and cut into them. I took photos along the way if anyone wants to try this and needs tutorial. I said before that my Grammer Shirley used to make these out of old clothes and after I posted she told me a funny story. Do you mind if I share?
Papaw hung a pair of work pants that he used in the field on the clothes line one day to use when he returned home from work. When he got back from work and looked for his pants, they were missing. He asked Grammer if she had seen them thinking that she had possibly put them in the wash. Grammer just grinned and looked down at the rag rug she had finished that day. She said that she had gotten almost done and needed just a tad bit more fabric to finish the rug and spied Papaws raggedy ol pants out on the line. Funny!
I hope everyone is having a great fallish weekend. We are!
