Hola y Bienvenidos!

  • Hello, and Welcome!
It is an amazing thing when someone takes the time to reach across the miles, extending themselves in friendship, through a comment or an email. Know that I read each one. But sometimes there are not enough hours in the day to take a shower nevertheless respond to each comment. If you have a specific question, please shoot me an email. I promise to answer you as quickly as I can.

one local summer: week one

Im a bit late on this, but last week was the beginning of One Local Summer.  This will be quite a task for us, but I am welcoming the challenge!  I am predicting that most of ours will involve fish of some sort or another since we are so close to the Chesapeake Bay.  It would make sense, right?

Here were our entries from the past week:

022

Herb Sauteed Shrimp with Green Salad

: local Chesapeake Bay shrimp from a fish market down the road, mixed greens from our CSA last week, fresh herbs from our friend Maggie and oil and vinegar dressing from Pungo:

(The parmesan cheese and butter were not local, but hey!  I'm new at this game.  I'll do better next week, promise!)

breakfast omlette

Basil and Tomato Omlette

: Sunday morning breakfast omlette, the last of our local eggs from Wing and a Prayer Farm, herbs from our friend Maggie's garden and Pungo tomatoes from the Cindy's Produce down the road:
