Hola y Bienvenidos!

  • Hello, and Welcome!
It is an amazing thing when someone takes the time to reach across the miles, extending themselves in friendship, through a comment or an email. Know that I read each one. But sometimes there are not enough hours in the day to take a shower nevertheless respond to each comment. If you have a specific question, please shoot me an email. I promise to answer you as quickly as I can.

happy things: january, part 2

Yep, I've still got lots and lots of questions swirling around in my head.  Too big for me to be spending much time on.

So, focusing on happy things again this week is a good thing.

patchwork button scarf

I was able to use the vintage curtain fabric Kay sent me.  It took a lot of strength to cut into it, but I think it made a pretty patchwork scarf paired with oranges, yellows and browns.  I usually associate those colors with fall, but I'm hoping that the flowers and that shot of green will lend itself to either season.  And the orange raincoat was picked up several months ago at the JCOC thrift store for $4.

021

This was a scene from breakfast on Tuesday morning.  Ian drinking his hot cocoa before work, ahem...school.  For some reason he decided to wear his "wedding suit".  Of course I let him.  And I have smiled every time I think about it since.

three please

The custom lunch bags I ordered from Carol arrived yesterday!  The boys love them (as do I) and we can't wait to try them out at the beach next time.  You can get yours at her etsy shop.

organizing pocket

The chocolate and coffee just weren't enough to make bill paying exciting.  Maybe a new pocket organizer will do the trick.  This was my first attempt at grommets and I think I can safely add them to my many other addictions.  As I am now wondering what else I can grommetize!

beginnings

And the daffodils are poking their little heads up.  Which means spring is right around the corner.  Every year when they start to show up here and there I find myself wanting to whisper to them, "Its not quite time yet, go back to sleep".  And every year they slow their growth with the cooler temps and bloom right on time.

Nature has always been my best teacher.  Maybe I should take a hint from the daffodils.
